Rolo links belong to the belcher family: rounded, of even thickness the whole way around, and joined into the chain most people picture when they picture a chain. These are worked small in 925 sterling silver at 2.5mm, close-set enough to keep the outline compact.

2.5mm is where a chain begins to feel substantial. It reads clearly on its own and takes a heavier pendant without strain. Sizes run 40cm (16″), 45cm (18″) and 50cm (20″) — the shortest close to the base of the neck, the middle just under the collarbone, the longest resting on the chest. Rolo reads as neither masculine nor feminine, which is part of why it is worn so widely.
