Round links of even thickness, each one closed and threaded through the last — the belcher is the plainest strong chain there is, and 3.3mm is where it starts to carry real presence. This one is solid gold rather than plated, and it is offered in both 9ct and 18ct yellow gold, so the depth of colour is a choice.
At 3.3mm it is substantial enough to wear bare and will hold a heavy pendant without strain. Four lengths are made: 40cm (16″), 45cm (18″), 50cm (20″) and 60cm (24″). The shortest sits at the base of the neck; 60cm falls mid-chest and clears a crew neck. The longer drops tend to suit men, the shorter ones an open collar.
