Spiga, also called wheat, is woven from flattened links all leaning the same way, so the finished chain reads as a braid rather than a row of loops. Sterling silver 925 sits underneath, with 18ct yellow gold plating over it. The weave measures 1.9mm.
That is a true everyday width — supple, quiet against the skin, and able to hold most pendants. Both lengths are long ones. 60cm sits mid-chest and clears a crew neck, while 71cm can be doubled for a two-row effect or left full length over a shirt or a dress.
The plating is applied in Italy over solid sterling silver. It lasts longest when the chain is the last thing on and the first thing off; perfume, chlorinated pools and salt water are what wear a gold layer down. Insured Express Post, anywhere in Australia.
