Taken from ship chain, the anchor link is an oval with a bar set across its centre, and that bar is what stops the run from rolling over on itself. Here it is built in solid gold at 3.6mm, with facets machined into the surface of each link so the metal breaks light instead of reflecting it flat. Both 9ct and 18ct yellow gold are offered.
That width lands in substantial territory: it holds its own with nothing on it and will take a heavier pendant without looking overloaded. Four drops are available — 40cm (16″) at the base of the neck, 45cm (18″) just below the collarbone, 50cm (20″) on the chest and 60cm (24″) mid-chest, clear of most necklines.
