Multicolor Silver Two Beaded Chain

Beads run in a repeating sequence along a fine cable on this chain, and the finishes alternate: 18ct yellow and rose gold plating with rhodium among them, all applied over a sterling silver 925 base. The link size is 2.1mm, small enough that the beads read as texture and large enough to show the shifts in colour.

At 2.1mm it works as an everyday chain and has the body to hold a light or medium pendant, although the interplay of tones is reason enough to wear it with nothing on it. Mixed finishes also solve a common layering problem: it sits comfortably next to a yellow-toned chain and a plain silver one at the same time, so the rest of the stack does not have to match.
